Another quote

So if you haven't figured it out yet, I really like quotes especially ones by characters in movies, T.V. shows, etc. Here's one by Dr. Seuss...

My disease

There are many disease that I would like to cure and learn about, but I am choosing to do syringomyelia. This disease is important to me, because my grandpa had it. He had problems walking, eating, and just moving and was in a wheelchair for half his life. It is a very deadly disease and I wish it didn't exist.

Here are some facts about it:

  • Syringomylia is a disease in the spinal chord in which longitudinal cavities form in the spinal cord.
  • This disease may result in pain, paralysis, weakness and stiffness in the back, shoulders, and extremities. Syringomyelia may also cause a loss of the ability to feel extremes of hot or cold, especially in the hands.
  • The cause of syringomyelia is still unknown, but scientists think it has to do with the spinal cord forming a fluid-filled cyst.
  • Some symptoms include: lost of reflexes in shoulders, neck or arms, muscle weakness or pain, facial pain or numbness, and many more.
  • Syringomyelia is usually not treatable, but you can get surgery. Most doctors recommend not treating the condition if you are older in age or the symptoms are not getting worse.
Support people with this disease by helping them. My grandpa had to have a caregiver so she could feed him and get him to bed. Basically people with this disease need assistance with everything they do. If I could cure one disease it would be syringomylia, so my grandpa and other people wouldn't have to of lived almost their whole lives wheelchair bound.

I think winnie the pooh is a great role model. He is so kind and caring. I think that those are two of the biggest characteristics to being a good person. Sometimes you don't realize how much one kind act or even a smile can do for someone that is down. So be kind. Say one kind word or just smile at someone, so you can walk away knowing that you just possibly made somone's day. It is a great feeling! Be kind and caring it goes a long way.

Dessert Dance

This spring we will be having a dessert dance. The dessert dance is the biggest dance of the year and is only for 8th graders. We, the 8th graders got the option to choose the theme. Many ideas came up, but I voted for Netherland. I think this theme would be very fun! It would suit our class best, because it shows how most of us want to stay in this Neverland and not really grow up. Growing up means a lot of responsibilities and you have to be more independent. The jump from middle school to high school is very big and we change a lot and it is the time when we are actually starting to grow up (maybe) and start our lives as an adult. I guess we don't all grow up, but it is still a big change. In middle school you are kinda just screwing around having a good time then high school comes along. You start to actually think about growing up and maybe start to a bit. Then college comes and that is when you actually have to start growing up. It is a long process to becoming an adult. Leaving middle will be one step closer to being an adult and to starting the journey. Having Neverland as a theme would give us a chance to be in Neverland one last time before we part for high school. Some ideas as far as decorations go would be silhouettes of peter pan characters. We could have quotes around the gym from Peter Pan about growing up and changing. I will contribute to help make this night wonderful by being on the dance committee. I can help make decorations that way and design the dance. I think that whichever theme we do it is going to be amazing and very fun, but I do think Neverland is a good idea. I can't wait for the dessert dance!!

future job ideas

When I grow up I was thinking about being a pediatrician. I love working with kids and babies, so I thought this would be a good job for me. I enjoy helping my mom at work and at her classes at the hospital, because she is a nurse. I hope that I can choose the right classes in high school to be a doctor when I grow up. What do you want to be when you grow up? Answer your future dream in the comment box below!

Cows

Do you enjoy looking at cows? I do. I think they are amazing animals and pretty interesting to learn about. They are a lot like humans. They deliver babies the same way and the mother gives milk to its young. I think they are magical and very big. They have a loud moo and smell bad, but that's okay. I love to watch cows eat, because their mouth goes in funny directions. Enjoy cows as much as I do and make sure you don't get stuck in a pen with them. You would get trampled!

Bob the Builder....Bob the builder is my favorite character. I think he is really awesome. He can fix anything and he works together with his team. He teaches people to be kind, considerate, about teamwork and to work hard.
